Have you ever wondered about the trials and progression of medicine in the civil war era? New Horizons Senior Center is hosting a History Discussion for adults 55 and over on June 19 at 1 PM about pre-civil war medicine, and how it changed due to the war. Among other topics, Leader Bob Bond will cover the dramatic medical need during the war, the ambulance corps, the role of women and other medical volunteers, hospitals and medications, and wounds and disease.
